The Tramway is an historical part of Milano’s public transport, since the end if the nineteenth century.

Still today it’s a key and strategic mobility player, with nearly 20 lines operating across the whole city. Trams connect all areas and points of interest in Milano as effectively as the subway or the buses and they often benefit of priority lanes to avoid traffic.

Tram vehicles of different historical periods run through the tracks. While the most recent and technological “Tramlink” model is being introduced, trams that are nearly 100 years old (like the “1928” model) are still operational. Over one hundred “1928” vehicles are currently in regular operation.
